This style of blog template is supposed to be particularly good for posting panoramic images, so I thought I’d have a go at another one (other than the one at the top of the cliffs and stacks at Silwick). This is from our journey ‘doon sooth’ last weekend – was it really only a week ago? – to pick up our stuff from Aberdeen.
We got the van loaded up from the storage centre in no time, and so made a trip down to the Cairngorms to look for ptarmigan and snow buntings. This view is looking towards the Cairnwell pass, heading for the skiing area. Which that day was heaving with people. What fascinated about this view was the ominous-looking cornice on the farthest hill.
We didn’t see any ptarmigan, but we did see some snow bunting.
